RELOP’s new Governing Bodies for 2026-2027 take office

On 1 January 2026, Mozambique’s Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) assumed the presidency of RELOP’s Council of Presidents for the next two years, playing a central role in providing strategic guidance and representing RELOP.

ARENE will have the support of Angola’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) as Vice-president and Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) as Executive Director (permanent role).

At the same time, Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) has taken on the role of President of the General Assembly and Mozambique’s National Oil Institute (INP) lead the Audit Board.

RELOP’s new governing bodies were unanimously elected on 23 October 2025 at the 2nd General Assembly in Maputo, Mozambique. The new appointments reflect the continued commitment to promoting cooperation among Portuguese-speaking regulators in the energy sector.

The new terms begin on 1 January 2026 and end on 31 December 2027.
