XIV Annual Conference
9 Nov 2023
The XIV Conference of the Association of Energy Regulators of Portuguese-Speaking Countries took place on November 9, 2023, on the island of Sal, Cape Verde.
This was yet another space for RELOP to share and reflect together, with this year’s focus on the integration of different energy vectors. The diversification of vectors offers a significant opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and move towards a more sustainable energy system. Addressing these challenges requires not only constant investment in research and infrastructure, but also a balanced regulatory approach that prioritizes both system security and investment incentives.
At the close of the conference, RELOP’s Executive Director stressed the importance of “international cooperation to disseminate experiences and best practices in order to provide better service to the economy and the country”.
The conference featured speakers from three continents who enriched the discussions, providing valuable insights into the broader challenges and opportunities currently facing the energy sector.
Below you will the presentations and details of the two panels, as well as the roundtable discussion.
